Study Scheme

Applicable to students admitted in 2021-22 and thereafter:
1. Coursework Requirement

 i) Required courses:
(Any 2 required courses
BUDS5013 or BUDS5005 or BUDS5014)
6 units
ii) Elective courses:
(Any 5 elective courses could be selected from 4 areas)
15 units
iii) Project (Graduation Paper) BUDS5012 3 units

Total:

24 units

Areas of Study
Area 1: Chinese Buddhism 中國佛教
Area 2: Buddhism and Chinese Culture 佛教與中國文化
Area 3: Buddhism and Society 佛教與社會
Area 4: Language Courses 語言課程

The degree would require a total of 8 courses, i.e., 24 units to be completed within one year for full-time students and two years for part-time students.

2. Other Requirements
(a) Students must take at least one course per term throughout the normative study period as stipulated in the “General Regulations Governing Postgraduate Studies”.
(b) A student who obtains a cumulative grade point average (GPA) below 2.0 in the preceding term will be put on academic probation.
