The International Conference on Oriental Management Culture

The International Conference on Oriental Management Culture

Contemporary management studies are dominated by academic research in Western management, which cites many important research theories and successful cases of practice for reference by contemporary academia and the business world. Comparatively, management studies related to Eastern culture are somewhat limited at this stage. Eastern culture has a long history, and over the past 2000 years, it has originated from ancient Chinese Confucianism, Buddhism, Taoism, and Indian Brahmanism, influencing and shaping the thoughts and cultures of many countries and regions such as Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, etc. We all know that the diversity and innovation of Eastern management culture are important methods to reduce the dehumanization of capital and develop sustainable business operations. How Eastern culture responds to the development of modern enterprises and organizations is worth continuous exploration and practice. We hope to conduct research and review summaries on business management activities influenced by Eastern culture and related theories.

The International Conference on Oriental Management Culture is jointly initiated by the Centre for the Study of Humanistic Buddhism of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, the EMBA (Chinese) Program of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, the Department of Economic History of Peking University, Research Center for Corporate Social Responsibility of South China University of Technology, and the Fo Guang Shan Institute of Humanistic Buddhism. It is scheduled to be held at The Chinese University of Hong Kong on November 22 and 23, 2024. This grand event will gather scholars from around the world for exchange and discussion, aiming to promote the global influence of Oriental Management Culture.
