Exhibition “Beyond the Singularity”, The final stage of ARTS • TECH Exhibition 2.0: Living with Art and Technology, curated by Prof. Isaac Leung
The final stage of ARTS•TECH’s second edition is the exhibition Beyond the Singularity at the Showcase in Wong Chuk Hang (16 March–7 April 2024), a study of new ways for integrating AI technology into art and exhibition-making. Curator Isaac Leung, whose research interests encompass video and new media technologies, has devised a programme to familiarise 12 artists with AI technology through workshops and consultations, the product of which will be presented in March.
Participants include artists Stephen Wong Chun-hei and Mak Ying Tung 2 (MAK2), calligrapher Chui Pui-chee, and researcher and critic Phoebe Wong, who were asked to join in part for their diverse artistic backgrounds. This invitation reflects Leung’s belief that ‘media art isn’t solely the domain of tech-savvy younger generations’, in a call for new adventures that surely extends beyond the art world.

AMPS Conference: Revisiting Place – Current Global Conditions and Human-Spatial Relations
The Cultural Management BA Program is delighted to announce the upcoming conference titled “Revisiting Place – Current Global Conditions and Human-Spatial Relations,” scheduled for December 6, 2023. This event will be conducted online and is part of the broader conference series, “Local Cultures – Global Spaces: Communities, People, and Place,” presented in collaboration with AMPS, Rochester Institute of Technology, The University of Melbourne, UCL Press, and Cambridge Scholar Publishing. Situated at the intersection of cultural studies, sociology, human geography, architecture, and urban planning, this conference delves into the profound implications of place during times of uncertainty. It explores the philosophical significance of spatial realism and delves into various aspects such as social dynamics, trans-local imaginaries, architectural spaces, and knowledge paradigms. Ultimately, the conference seeks to provide valuable insights into reinterpreting history, subjectivity, culture, political institutions, and the concept of place. For further details, including the conference schedule and registration links, please visit our conference website. We extend a warm welcome to students, faculty members, and the general public to join us in this intellectually enriching event.
