On the 1st of March, the Faculty of Arts at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) was honoured to host a distinguished alumni lecture marking its 60th anniversary. The event featured an inspiring talk by Dr. Lesley Fung-ha Lau (87/NA/Fine Arts; 95/MPhil/Chinese Art History; 12/PhD/Chinese Art History), Head of Art Promotion Office, Hong Kong, an outstanding alumna from the Department of Fine Arts.
The lecture was graced by the presence of esteemed faculty members including Professor Max Xiaobing Tang, Dean of the Faculty of Arts; Professor Wong Nim Yan, Associate Dean of Arts (Publicity and Outreach); Professor Frank Vigneron, Chairman of the Department of Fine Arts; Professor Maggie Wan, from the Graduate Division of the Department of Fine Arts; and Professor Josh Yiu, Director of the CUHK Art Museum.
An audience of nearly 100 alumni, students, and friends of CUHK and the Hong Kong art community gathered to take part in this alumni lecture, immersing themselves in the wealth of knowledge and experiences shared by Dr. Lesley Lau. Throughout her distinguished career of more than 37 years, Dr. Lau shared her professional experiences, providing invaluable insights on the promotion and development of art both locally and around the globe.
The lecture served not only as a platform for learning and inspiration but also as a celebration of Dr. Lau's successful career, marking her transition into retirement. In extending our heartfelt congratulations and best wishes for her future endeavours, the Faculty of Arts reaffirms its commitment to fostering a vibrant community of scholars and practitioners in the arts. We express our deep gratitude to Dr. Lesley Lau for her contributions and to everyone who participated in making this event a memorable occasion.
