Organised by the Faculty of Arts at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK Arts) and co-organised by the CUHK Art Museum and the Department of Fine Arts, the 2024 CUHK Artist-in-Residence Programme featuring the Liu Xiaodong Portrait Drawing Masterclass has successfully concluded.
The masterclass took place on November 30, December 7, and December 14 at the Experiential Learning Space of the Art Museum, providing students from the Department of Fine Arts with a rare opportunity to learn from one of the world's leading contemporary artists and oil painters, Professor Liu Xiaodong, who is the CUHK Artist-in-Residence for 2024. Under Professor Liu's guidance and teaching, students gained a deeper understanding of the relationship between realism and portrait drawing, enhancing their painting skills. The interaction between Professor Liu and the students created a relaxed and inspiring learning atmosphere.
The Faculty of Arts and the Department of Fine Arts sincerely thank Professor Liu for his time and enthusiasm dedicated to the Artist-in-Residence Programme. His insights and guidance will undoubtedly have a profound impact on the students.
