“I love attending presentations on research and exploring new findings in various fields of linguistics. Beyond my major, CUHK has also given me the chance to dive into disciplines like sociology, film studies, and economics. This broad foundation is something I value deeply, it’s opened doors to different ways of thinking.” Regan also appreciates CUHK’s general education courses for helping her develop creative and critical thinking skills, enriching her learning experience beyond her core field of study.

Speaking about the Linguistics programme, Regan highlights the benefits of being part of a small, closely connected department: “The close-knit environment allows me to connect directly with my professors, whether to discuss class material or my personal linguistic interests. I’ve even had the chance to learn about their research projects and labs, which is invaluable as I aspire to a career in academia.”
