To promote interdisciplinary research and international exchanges on modern Chinese translation history, the Research Centre for Translation of The Chinese University of Hong Kong and the Institute of Translation History and Transcultural Studies, Hunan University of Science and Technology (HNUST) are organizing the First International Forum on Modern Chinese Translation History, “Translation and Knowledge Production in Modern China” on 16-17 December 2022.
The forum aims to provide a platform for scholars in the field of Chinese translation history to present papers and exchange views on the role of translation in knowledge production in modern China. We will explore new research methods and approaches, discuss historical cases, share research experiences, and explore collaboration possibilities in an open and vibrant academic atmosphere.
