A very important occasion in undergraduate studies is the summer field trip. It is a two-week field trip outside Hong Kong, led by a professor and a tutor. Past field trips have been to different places, including Australia, the Silk Road in Northwest China, Tokyo, Nagoya and Sapporo in Japan, Vietnam, Turkey and Taiwan. On these trips―partially funded through the generosity of New Asia College and other donors―students learn how to do fieldwork and gain extensive experience of being in another culture. Students, after participating in the field trips, will organize exhibitions to showcase their fruitful learning outcomes.
