Amy LAM (She/They) is a Hong Kong anthropology student who aspires to combine research skills with her artistic interest in storytelling and graphic novel drawing. Inspired by feminist and queer scholarships, they are currently studying the evolution of the intersex/DSD healthcare system in Hong Kong. Through her research, she hopes to understand how biomedicine understood and responded to the challenge of non-binary bodies living in a (largely) binary society: One about appropriate gender assignment, ethical medical intervention, and the very meaning of quality life.   

Their academic interest includes: Intersex studies, Feminist and Queer studies, Disability studies, Visual ethnographies, and will grow over time.
