I grew up in a culturally diverse place in the Tibetan area, which sparked my interest in the connections between nature and culture, wildness and domestication, and hunting and cultivation. During my undergraduate studies, I analyzed the impact of opium on the lives of Tibetans as portrayed in the book Red Poppies by A Lai, a Tibetan author. For my MA thesis, I delved into Tibetan culture through the study of highland barley. After graduation, I returned to my hometown to research the effects of wildlife on local farmers and herders, and also the changes of the local communities from hunting to cultivating the wildlife during the hundreds of years.
These experiences have motivated me to continue to explore the symbiotic relationship between humans and non-humans within the realm of multispecies anthropology.
