Lam received her BFA, MFA and Postgraduate Diploma in Education at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
Lam was chosen as one of the highlighted artists by the Hong Kong Art Promotion Office for its “Artists in Neighbourhood Scheme II 2003”. She was also the Asian Cultural Council 2006 grantee; 2007-2008 New York Urban Glass visiting artist fellow; one of representative artist of HK in 2009 Subvision Art Festival, Hamburg and “Design Stars of Tomorrow 40 under 40” selected by Perspective magazine in 2010. Lam was invited to take part in many oversea exhibitions, apart from artist residency/exchange programmes in Kenya, Taiwan, Bangladesh, Shanghai, New York, Toronto, Melbourne and Japan, she showed the works in Paris, Hochiminh City, Singapore, Macau and Shenzhen, etc. Her works often explore issues related to the local culture, history, society and current affairs in various medium.
She is subject coordinator of sculpture and lecture at the Hong Kong Art School now. She is also the chairperson and convener of HKAiR.
