Being held quinquennially, the National Fine Arts Exhibition is the national level fine arts exhibition with the largest scale and the highest standards, which is presented by The Ministry of Culture of People’s Republic of China, China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and China Artists Association. Organized by Shantou government, the 11th National Fine Arts Exhibition·Invitational Exhibition of Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan opened on September 8th, 2009 at Lin Baixin Convention Centre, including 210 selected artworks (91 from Hong Kong, 38 from Macau and 33 from Taiwan) that covered various of medias such as Chinese painting, oil painting, lacquer painting, watercolor painting, print, mixed media and sculpture, among which there were 100 Chinese Paintings, 95 oil and other types of paintings and 15 sculptures. 35 artworks were nominated.
