“Others¹⁹” – Master of Arts in Fine Arts Graduation Exhibition (Contemporary Art Practice)
The Contemporary Art Practice’s graduation exhibition is titled “Others¹⁹”, with the numbers 1 and 9 respectively representing a start and an end. As the end of this school year is approaching, 19 students are about to embark on a new beginning. They have become more focused on individual transformation and growth so as to prepare for the new journey. Through the language of art, they seek to display the courses and exploration of the past two years of learning while demonstrating each of their distinctiveness. They are illustrating their own new chapter by overturning pre-existing perceptions and surpassing past experiences, be those in terms of art or life. The 19 of them take on a variety of creative forms to reveal their personal transformation, values in life, and prospects for the future.
“Blooming Life, Nurturing the Future” – Master of Arts in Fine Arts Graduation Exhibition (Chinese Art Practice)
The theme of Chinese Art Practice’s graduation exhibition is “Blooming Life, Nurturing the Future”. It represents the determination of plants as they firmly root themselves and strive to grow, symbolising the act of bringing life to paper with brushstrokes. Meanwhile, “Flowers” symbolise femininity. As a group of female students of the Chinese Art Practice, they have diligently studied and accumulated artistic knowledge, infusing their works with philosophical insights and emotional warmth, constantly seeking breakthroughs on the foundation they have built. Responding to the profound spirits of traditional Chinese art, they create artworks that are as beautiful and vibrant as blossoming flowers. In life and art, flowers symbolise new beginnings. As they strive to grow and seek to blossom, the fallen flowers become nutrients, nourishing future flowers and fruits, ensuring the continuation of life. This exhibition serves as a platform for students to share their artistic journeys with the audience. Each artwork on display reflects their dedication, growth, and personal narratives throughout the studies. From traditional ink paintings to contemporary mixed media installations, the exhibition showcases a diverse range of artistic styles, techniques, and ideologies.
