Accommodation

We provide assistance with booking of two options of accommodation (University Guest House and Chungking Mansions), and there are also many other choices for housing for the conference.

Booking Through Us:

University Guest House: All Guest House Rooms are fully booked (updated on 17/7/2017)

The University Guest House is on campus and relatively convenient, requiring a ten-minute uphill walk to the conference site. The rooms are relatively modest, with private bathrooms, telephones, and televisions, in the usual hotel-room style. Numbers and types of rooms available are: 1) Three Single Rooms (one adult only) at HK$ 500 per room per night, 2) Twenty-one Twin Rooms (with two single beds each) at HK$ 550 per room per nightand 3) Three Superior Rooms (with ONE double bed; W150 x L200 cm) at HK$600 per room per night. It is expected that these rooms will be in considerable demand; since they are first come, first served, please apply as early as possible.

Chungking Mansions:

Chungking Mansions is a center of “low-end globalization” in Hong Kong and probably the most international building in the world; it’s a fascinating place to stay, although the rooms are small and sometimes decrepit. Located in Tsim Sha Tsui, one of central areas in Hong Kong, Chungking Mansions is a 40-minute MTR ride to CUHK. The price will be roughly HK$250 per night for a cheap single room with individual bathroom, and HK$500 per night for a fancy one. If there are a sufficient number of people who seek to stay in Chungking Mansions, we will arrange a bus to and from CUHK.

If you wish to stay at the University Guest House or Chungking Mansions, please apply for accommodation along with registration. Since reservations are made on a first-come, first-served basis, we would recommend you to complete the registration and accommodation application as early as possible. We cannot promise the availability of a given accommodation since the supply is limited.

Once we receive your application, we will make a reservation for you. We will send you a confirmation letter if your reservation is confirmed, or consult with you if there is a problem. You will have to pay for your accommodation via our payment system on or before August 31 2017. If we have not received your payment by that time, we will cancel your reservation.

Please note that payment for accommodation is non-refundable.

Hyatt Regency:

Hyatt Regency is a five-star luxury hotel located right next to CUHK. You will need to make a booking by yourself, yet you can enjoy a conference discount by using this link.

You may also want to consider Royal Park Hotel Hong Kong and Regal Riverside Hotel. Both are located in Shatin, the same area that CUHK is in, and the travel time to the conference site is roughly 15-30 minutes by MTR and 10 minutes by taxi. Please make a reservation by yourself if you want to stay in these hotels.
