East Asian Anthropological Association (EAAA)
The East Asian Anthropological Association (EAAA) is a nonpolitical and nonprofit professional association of scholars and students based in East Asia and engaged in related anthropological work on Asia. Since its establishment in 2008, the East Asian Anthropological Association has followed a rotation system to have its annual meeting held among all participatory member organizations: Beijing, China (2008), Taipei, Taiwan (2009, 2015), Seoul, Korea (2010), Osaka, Japan (2011), Hong Kong (2012), and Xiamen, China (2013), Yeongnam, Korea (2014), and Sapporo, Japan (2016).

Department of Anthropology, The Chinese University of Hong Kong
The Department of Anthropology at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, as the only department in Hong Kong specializing in anthropology, has actively promoted the discipline since 1980. To stimulate the exchange of anthropological knowledge, the department has organized numerous conferences such as the Society for East Asian Anthropology Conference in 2016 and 2006, the International Conference on Foodways and Heritage in 2013, the East Asian Anthropological Association Conference in 2012, and the International Society for the Studies of Chinese Overseas Conference in 2011.

The Hong Kong Anthropological Society (HKAS)
The Hong Kong Anthropological Society (HKAS) was founded in 1978 to promote anthropology, not only to academics, but also to a larger public of interested people in Hong Kong and beyond. It has more than 200 members, including professional anthropologists from local universities, postgraduate and undergraduate students, and people from a wide range of professions who are interested in anthropology. The Society seeks to provide a platform for dissemination of knowledge in anthropology in Hong Kong.
