The proposal should include a title, a 250-word abstract (English only), institutional affiliation, and contact information. Interested applicants are to submit an online application and proposal at Online Application by 30 November 2023 (23:59 GMT+8).
We only accept proposals for individual papers this year. Papers on different topics are all welcome, ethnographic work preferred.
Encouraged topics and themes include but are not limited to:
- - Boundaries between humanity and AI technologies
- - Migration and the boundaries of place, space, and state
- - Boundaries in the context of evolving ideas on gender and sexual identities [Gender boundaries, gendered boundaries]
- - Solidarity across disciplines and beyond the academy
- - Negotiating boundaries and solidarity in fieldwork
- - Norm-divergent bodies and minds
- - The shifting boundaries between public and private life
- -Rural-urban linkages and division
We will establish panels for all accepted papers according to their topics and decide whether the panel would be online or in-person, based on the preference indicated by the applicants. A discussant with relative research interest will be assigned to each panel.
