In February, the Faculty of Arts at the Chinese University of Hong Kong organised an engaging career workshop focused on job searching and interviewing skills. Led by Dr. Anthony Wong, an experienced career coach and HR consultant, the workshop offered valuable insights into current industry trends and diverse career opportunities specifically tailored for Arts students.
Professor Peggy Mok Pik-ki, Associate Dean of the Faculty of Arts (Student Affairs), appreciated the students for their extra efforts in participating in the workshop as they prepared for their future careers. During the workshop, students received statistical information on global and Hong Kong industry trends, highlighted by Dr. Wong. He emphasised the unique skillsets of Arts students, such as critical thinking skills, interdisciplinary knowledge, and whole-person development, that enhance their competitiveness in the job market.
In the second part of the workshop, Dr. Wong demonstrated how to prepare for job interviews and impress potential employers with practical examples. Personalized feedback was provided to help ease students’ uncertainties and fears about the interviewing process.
The Faculty remains committed to supporting students’ career development by equipping them with the necessary skills and resources to navigate the job market confidently.
